Different types of washers
Plain Washers

● Washers help you spread the weight of a threaded fastener to prevent high pressure on a particular point. It is beneficial when you need to fasten the screw or bolt to any soft material. Due to proper load distribution, the fastener cannot sink into your material.
● Metal washers with a spring-like or serrated structure grip firmly onto the surface. That is why vibrations and other external factors cannot loosen the fastener. Machinery that remains in constant motion has these washers.
● In some cases, pre-drilled holes for fasteners do not align well. So, washers will compensate for these discrepancies to let the fastener function optimally.
● Washers used in hydraulic and plumbing systems prevent the escape of fluid and make the system more efficient.
